Discipleship Training is our way of saying, "We won't let you walk this new journey alone." When someone joins our church or makes a fresh commitment to Christ, we don't just celebrate one Sunday and move on. We invite them into a guided pathway that roots their faith and helps them grow strong.
In these sessions, we sit together with Bibles open and hearts ready. We talk plainly about what we believe, who Jesus is, how salvation works, and what it means to follow Him day by day. We also explore the history and heart of the African Methodist Episcopal Church - how God raised up this denomination to preach the Gospel and stand for dignity and justice. One brother once said, "I've been in church my whole life, but this is the first time someone has walked me through what we actually believe." That's the kind of understanding we pray every participant receives.
We also help you discover how God has wired you to serve. Maybe you feel drawn to music, teaching children, visiting the sick, or joining outreach efforts. Through discussions and prayer, we help you find your place in the life of the local church so your faith doesn't stay in the pew - it moves into action. At the end of the journey, you receive a certificate of completion, not as a formality, but as a reminder that you have taken intentional steps to grow. Many keep theirs tucked in a Bible or framed at home as a testimony of a turning point season.
If you're ready to move beyond "just attending" and into truly understanding and living your faith, Discipleship Training is for you. We are honored to walk alongside you, answer your questions, and watch as God shapes you into a mature disciple of Jesus Christ.
